At ECSO CLOUD, resilience and continuity are central to the way we design and operate our infrastructure. We understand how quickly systems can be disrupted when disaster recovery options are limited, and we are committed to ensuring that our customers experience minimal downtime even in the face of unexpected events. To strengthen this commitment, we are expanding and upgrading our Disaster Recovery systems to provide faster recovery times and greater protection.
What Disaster Recovery Provides
Disaster Recovery is an advanced safeguard available to customers who have enabled backups. While backups alone ensure that data is preserved, Disaster Recovery goes further by minimizing downtime. In the event of a disaster scenario, such as hardware failure or datacenter outage, your cloud server is automatically restored to a compatible host system using the most recent backup. This means your services are brought back online quickly, often in the same location, though in cases of larger incidents such as a datacenter-wide failure, migration to another location may be necessary to maintain continuity.
Recovery Process and Timing
Recovery times depend on the nature of the issue. For minor interruptions such as network problems or small hardware faults, we rely on backups and guaranteed restoration times. For larger failures, Disaster Recovery automatically migrates your server to another compatible host system, ensuring that your operations resume without unnecessary delay.
Why It’s an Optional Feature
Because Disaster Recovery requires backups to be enabled and involves additional infrastructure and processes, it is offered as an optional free feature. Some customers prefer not to be migrated to alternative locations in the event of a disaster, so we provide this option for those who prioritize maximum uptime and continuity.
IP Address Continuity
In most cases, your IP address will remain unchanged after recovery. Our network allows IP reassignment to new compute resources, ensuring seamless continuity for your applications and services. With these upgrades, ECSO CLOUD customers can be confident that their cloud systems will remain resilient, secure, and available, even when the unexpected occurs.
