Responsibilities

  • Deploying, installing, and configuring server hardware, network switches, and storage systems.
  • Diagnosing and replacing faulty hardware components like RAM, hard drives, power supplies, and motherboards.
  • Managing structured cabling, including tracing, labeling, and installing copper and fiber optic cables.
  • Monitoring data center environmental controls, power distribution, and cooling systems to ensure stability.
  • Tracking and auditing data center inventory, hardware assets, and spare parts.
  • Assisting with the secure decommissioning, data wiping, and disposal of legacy hardware.
  • Collaborating with external vendors and remote engineering teams to resolve infrastructure issues.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Experience working inside a data center environment or in a hardware-focused IT support role.
  • Proficient understanding of server hardware components, network infrastructure, and cabling standards.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix command line interface and basic network troubleshooting tools.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work on-site in a physical, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with German language skills being a distinct advantage.
