The year 2025 in one post
Robin Holl
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
The cloud company ECSO CLOUD looks back on an eventful year 2025, characterized by extensive personnel changes, international expansion, and technological advancement. The key milestones of the year can be summarized as follows:
April 2025
In April, the previous management handed over the leadership of the company to Robin Holl, who now assumes responsibility for ECSO’s strategic direction as CEO.
July 2025
With the exception of the data center in Chicago, the entire company infrastructure was relocated to Germany. The processing of personal data now takes place exclusively at the new headquarters, enabling ECSO to achieve full GDPR compliance within the EU.
August 2025
In August, the uplink concept was fundamentally revised and the data center’s backbone capacity expanded to 1.5 Tbps. Thanks to global connectivity, ECSO now achieves an average global latency of approximately 50 milliseconds.
In addition, the company entered into a partnership with Microsoft and integrated licensing solutions via its in-house developed Windows License Server (WLS). This was followed by a partnership with RIPE and the application for its own AS number.
September 2025
ECSO opened its first proprietary peering point in the data center under the new management and established a connection to the London Internet Exchange (LINX). EPIC Games was acquired as a prominent new customer.
As part of structural changes, COO Valentin Martin and CXO Kevin Echterhoff left the company. Dominik Bitiq (CHRO) was promoted to CEO and has since supported Robin Holl within the C-suite.
Shortly thereafter, Google was connected as the first private peering customer, followed by Meta. Additionally, a peering connection to LU-CIX was established. The customer portal was comprehensively modernized and is now available at account.ecso.cloud.
Furthermore, ECSO integrated new server generations from AMD and Intel, including high-performance GPU solutions (H100, L40s, A100) as well as storage servers with up to 308 TB of storage capacity.
October 2025
In October, the Mexico peering point was added to the network. At the same time, ECSO introduced the new VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) product line, which met with strong demand from the outset.
During the same period, the company faced a DDoS attack with peak loads of up to 5 Tbps. In response, ECSO developed its own DDoS protection solution, which successfully mitigated the attack with the support of strong partners. In addition, French language support was added to the customer portal.
November 2025
November was marked by cloud consolidation. The new cloud console was announced, and the internal DDoS protection solution “WishNet” was implemented, which is planned to be spun off as a subsidiary in the future.
The product portfolio was streamlined and now focuses on AMD cloud servers and Intel bare-metal servers with state-of-the-art hardware. Additionally, Plesk was offered as an installable cloud product, and Cloudflare was integrated into the private peering structure, complemented by peering connections in China and Brazil.
December 2025
ECSO announced the opening of a new data center location in Japan, the implementation of which had been in preparation over an extended period. In parallel, the customer portal was expanded with a Japanese language version to specifically support market entry in the region.
Furthermore, ECSO officially expanded its target group to include private customers and, in this context, established a new peering connection in Oman. In the same month, the press branding was revised and the sponsorship budget increased by €5,000.00 per month. New customers have since received cloud credit of €20.00.
In addition, the data center in Cologne was officially completed. For 2026, ECSO announced the hiring of an additional 30 employees. From a technical perspective, the company secured one of the largest transit providers as a partner, put a private peering connection between the USA and Cologne into operation with a capacity of 15 Tbps, and implemented further optimizations to the cloud console.
Outlook
Through the consistent implementation of its strategic initiatives, ECSO CLOUD is sustainably strengthening its position as a provider in the cloud and data center industry. The combination of modern infrastructure, global peering partnerships, and innovative security solutions provides a solid foundation for further growth in 2026.
